Interesting idea - biomimetics. I've always marveled at the artichoke's capacity to keep heat. Can you imagine, someone designing an artichoke-based thermos? Or even stranger - an artichoke based wetsuit?

Huan, the link between abalone and artichokes is that they both start with "a". Just kidding! I was thinking about possible biomimetic applications of the artichoke.

hahahaha all i can think of is paella when i think of artichokes. mmmmm
with some layers of abalone on the side.
