Hart rate monitor?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
a buddy of mine used his heartrate monitor in course, he said after a while the beeping distracted him. so many configure it not to beep.

he also said wearing the chest belt (the thing that picks up the heart rate) was unconfortable under the suit.

so depending on what you want to achive with it , you can do without.

Hope this helps,

Any recommended affordable HR models?

I would like to use it in the pool, and download the HR recordings to PC.

Oh BTW I've some recordings of my HR during static and CWT, and with my recent insight into the principles of Blood-flow and it's relation to vascular constriction, MDR. I would like to record some Dynamic dives.

Thanks!

Kars

i have a Suunto T6d, you can use it for swimming running and biking. it doesnt beep and i really dont feel the chest strap.

Suunto t6d Black Smoke | Suunto

Thanks Sara, but that price looks to me like I need to find and marry a rich wife. $458,- (including the USB cable..)

I'm using the suunto memory belt without a watch. It's just about 30€ and comes with a USB interface.

I check for the price, and surely it's more affordable, but not 30,-, The best price I found for the memory belt AND Docking station (one needs both..) is E 129,-
Thanks for the tip Maui!

Kars, check out for example eBay - there are plenty of diverse HR monitors from brands like Suunto and Polar that you can have already for around $150 (new, and complete watch+belt+interface), but there are also less known brands like Pyle GK568 for $39, or the following Swinn looks good too: $60, GPS, altimeter, 30m waterproof, ...

Sorry, I forgot to mention, that it goes for about 30€ on ebay.

If you look for watch, make sure you get a model with a 5kHz transmitter (not 2.4 GHz). This frequency can transmit under water.

I've found most heart rate monitors do not go low enough. As soon as I feel the dive response kick in it looses signal.
