Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
In the northwest puget sound? I understand a five mm would be the best.
I used to live near Seattle.
Yes, I think 5mm would be better there, perhaps more in winter. I understand you get cold currents coming down from the north, on the west coast of north America.

Although it is hard to believe sometimes, here in the United Kingdom, we are blessed with the warming influence of the Gulf Stream, from the Gulf of Mexico. My cold feet say no but the tropical trigger fish that I sometimes see here say yes ;)
 
You can go diving anywhere in a 3mm. But you'll probably spend more time putting the suit on and taking it off than you can stay in the water. :p

I dive the North side of the Olympic Peninsula, ( Neah Bay, Clallam/Sekiu) with a 7 mm titanium by Henderson. I would be very leery of diving with a 5mm in there. Water temps are usually around 45 degrees F, and most use drysuits to avoid getting chilled. We often pour heated water into our suits after divesti warm up if using wetsuits.
