Hi everyone, I'm currently using a rob allen 1,2m snapper rail gun, I'm looking to get a smaller gun for shallow reef hunting. What do you recommend I get and what size?

Hi Calvin,
FYI I moved your post from the (inappropriate) Dummies guide to rigging your speargun to this new thread.

What is the visibilty likely to be? What size fish are you likely to spear? How do you find the RA120 (e.g. fine/bit big/heavy/...)? I think Miles used 110cm railguns (inc. Rabitechs) for reef hunting out of Cape Town. I'm guessing something in the range 90-115cm would likely meet your needs best. You could get another railgun (e.g. Rob Allen/Rabitech/Orcas) or, if you wanted something a bit lighter/more agile, some of the euroguns might be worth considering (e.g. Omer Cayman, Beuchat Marlin). Look at some of the old posts by Miles .
