i had the strangest unpleasant thing happen the other day. at around 10ft i would get this splitting headache/ pain in my sinuses, 10 seconds later i would hear a squeaking sound, kind of like clearing my ears, and it would go away. the strange part is that i could breath through my nose fine, and i had no problem equalizing. any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like a squeeze from blockage in your frontal or maxillary sinuses. Hopefully its just conjestion from a cold. Lots of us go through this, some worse than others.

I had this a while back after diving after I thought I'd recovered from a cold, I could equalize my ears fine but got a real bad pain in my sinuses. Obviously everything wasn't back to 100%. That was a while ago. The last few dives I've done have been ok but one a while back I was getting severe sinus pain afterwards, to the point where I was on prescription pain killers because it was that bad, and sudafed wasn't doing anything. I still have to go see an ear throat and nose specialist but I haven't had the severe pain again. Could have been a sinus infection?

i got something similar right yesterday, i wouldn't call it pain, it was much lighter and while equalizing it was fading, after 3m it went away

some things occurred in the previous hours: a guy snoring hard making me wake up 3 or 4 times during the night, no jala-neti in the morning, a cold i have been able to keep away for over a week before the diving days
