Hey guys,

I've done one static breath hold and the O2 tables once as well. Both times I had mild to strong headaches the next day. Is this common? Am I doing something wrong?

The O2 tables i did this morning were 2 min breathups starting with a 2:30 hold and then working up by 15sec until the last 2 which were both 4 minutes.

I did them comfortably without contractions so it wasn't like I was killing myself.

Make sure you have plenty of water after and before and a good meal a few hours before but being hydrated is the main one ! 3 litres a day min

It is actually common, at least initially. It isn't surprising, either. There is data around that your blood pressure can rise to 300/200 in the initial stages of a breathhold, especially if the dive reflex has kicked in.

My source fotr the data was the DAN Freediving Workshop in 2006. The subjects were Enzo Maiorca and his daughters.

Make 100% sure that you are doing jalandhara bandha during the tables! Otherwise headaches will happen all the time...

I had to look that up, basically tuck the chin in, keep the neck long and push the tongue against the hard palate of your mouth?

do you do this for the entire breath hold or just when contractions begin? feels a little odd.
