I seem to be getting a headache the next day from going hard on an O2 table, or a big swim. Is this something I can expect to occur after pushing myself in training, or am I pushing too hard? Is it anything like feeling sore muscles (DOMS) from a gym session?

I've had a dull headache for the entire day. Last night I did a pb dynamic (yay!) but had the tiniest bit of samba. Would taking aspirin clear it up?

edit: Yes, it's probably going to happen when I push hard (too hard). It could also be dehydration.

Prevention/treatment should include aspirin after a hard session o2-wise and a bit of aerobic exercise the next day.

I used to get headaches when I first started freediving and training regularly. Not so often now. I was told (and read) that these are often due to co2 - a few people actually referred to them as co2 headaches. Seemed to improve as co2 tolerance improves. I occasionally get one in a hard training session. Dehydration also likely too. It's good to have a water bottle pool side when training and have regular sips. Swimming (and dynamics) is no different to other forms of exercise but often because we are in the pool, we don't think of the fact that we need to keep giving our body water when we are in a body of water, mainly because we don't feel hot and sweaty like we do when running etc. Dehydration can also can be a factor in BO, so if you were pushing yourself and dehydrated.....might all relate to that small samba and headaches.

Never heard about taking aspirin so can't comment on that.

Well done on the PB :-)
