I am looking for an inexpensive way of monitoring HR. Max price $150. Main use would be in the pool, so it would need to be waterproof to at least -3m, but the deeper it could go, the better.
I gather that monitors which read off the wrist are no use, so it would need to be a chest monitor. It would be OK if i could only access the data via an app after the swim/dive session.
I am wary of the annoying habit manufacturers have of saying that a device is ‘water resistant to -30m’ when in fact all that means is that you can probably wear it outdoors in the rain!

any suggestions?
