Hello fellow divers,

Apologies for my english but hello to my diving brothers. I am looking for the 'sweet spots' close to Berlin though usually I travel quite far to get away from the freezing. Greece has been good and beaches of South France are beautiful. Any recommendations for me?

Thank you and this is a great internet site!

Welcome from Texas! I'm sure you'll get some excellent info. here on DB.

I'm in Berlin also.. fairly inexperienced as a freediver but with all the lakes around here i'm looking forward to getting back into it in the summer.. freezing here right now for sure but the lakes can get up to a pleasant 20 or 22 degrees in the summer.. grreat.. would be nice to meet fellow freedivers in the area and exchange tips & maybe do a meet up when the warm weather arrives...

If you ever come to Greece again go to Pelloponisos there are perfect fishing places at Messinia and Lakonia .Also if you go to Monemvasia(Lakonia) the waters are deep behind the castle and need a boat but plenty in sealife(dont go august lots of winds).I went there last summer didnt dive much because i was not alone (you know what i mean:chatup) but encountered swordfish sea turtles and lots of other fish.I go up to 10 - 15 m at most .Also good for fishing from a boat you can catch tuna and i dont know the word in english in Greece we call it magiatiko.
