Hi, everyone. I'm Ben. First time on the forum.
I've recently passed my ** freedive course and am looking for other Apneasts in the area of Buckinghamshire, to train with or a club to join.
I've trained at the Richmond club a few times which is great but the travel time is an hour each way. So my training is not too often at the moment.

welcome to the forum im just over the border in oxfordshire and i've had a good scan of the tinterweb and found a few subaqua clubs but none that do any freediving. where abouts in bucks are you? Richmond club?

Alright Charlie, I'm in High Wycombe. I've seen that Wycombe sports centre has a Sub Aqua club. I haven't approached them though. Maybe we could train in their club time? It's a good size pool. 4m deep end.

My daughter and I use a Scuba shops pool, over in Aylesbury (Scuba Ducks ). It's small, 9m x 9m x 2.2m, circular with two tiers. it's cool for static or recreational diving (messing around, hoops, notepads ). I know we'd be more than welcome. It's a £10 a pop.

On another note I'm booked in to see a doc on Monday. I think I've got some kind of ear infection so I won't be able to train for a bit.

that pool sounds awesome, its a real b***h being landlocked and the deepest pool near me (banbury) is only 2m so i haven't been able to do any equalization training. ive asked a few sub aqua clubs if i can join and they haven't been receptive to free divers (safety crap) but defo worth a shot.
pm me if your up for training some time.
hope your ears ok
charlie

Cheers Charlie.
I'll talk to the Scuba shop in Aylesbury. I'm booked in for a session with my daughter on, Sat 30th. I'm sure they won't mind another Apneast. Like I said, it's only 2.2m deep but it works. Lots of stuff to do. I've even sat at the Bottem writing numbers. Harder than it sounds. Lol.
As for the Wycombe pool, I'll try contacting them. See what they say. Maybe the Scuba shop will put in a good word for us?
Where abouts are you in Oxford? Aylesbury's not too far?

im based near banbury so i can just pop down on the train. thanks for the offer but im busy on the 30th but it would be nice to have somewhere decent to train and someone to train with. do you have any days that you have free on a weekly basis? Friday Saturday Sunday are the best for me but i could do 5pm+ week days if any of that corresponds with your time table

I'll have to check the closing times with the Scuba Shop.
I'm a bit limited to weekend training in the day time (I'm an only parent) but I could train in the evenings on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
I could probably do the odd (planned) open water dive at a nearish inland site as well. But I'd need lots.
Of notice.
I emailed the Wycombe Scuba club but haven't had a reply yet. They (I think) meet on Sunday evenings.

Just got off the phone with the owner (Nick) and he's given us the thumbs up.

The shops just around the corner from where I work and so is the train station.
I finish at 5pm on a Thursday and at 4pm on a Friday.

If we train at the weekends ((daytime) I'll probably have my daughter in with us but that's no problem cause a Scuba instructor usually swims with her while I do my stuff anyway. So she wouldn't be annoying us.
Closing times:
Thursday. 7pm
Friday. 6pm
Saturday. 6pm ( need to finish by 2pm)
Sunday. 4pm ( need to finish by 2pm )

Mull it over and let me know.
