Hello from Ottawa, Canada!

I used to live at Port Hardy, Prince Rupert and the Haida Gaii on the west coast of Canada, where I was spoiled with great diving and interesting dive buddies. I started in diving collecting specimens for aquariums and octopus for sale to halibut fishermen (for bait) and restaurants. I also dove for swimming scallops. That was long ago before worker's compensation, we used to alternate between diving and tending. Scalloping was sometimes dark and gloomy, but octopus diving is always interesting, especially when you get a double header of big ones. Life then gets tentacular!

Welcome Tom: you have a very interesting background. Your pictures are fabulous and that article about the use of drysuits is very educational. I never thought about those potential problems. I will be a frequent visitor to your blog.
