I have waited till I've become old (55) to attempt freediving or, for that matter, any kind of diving. There is literally tons of fish to hunt very near our town.
In late August of 2005, I could have dove in my house in 13 feet of very nasty water. Thanks to an angry Katrina.
A young friend is schooling me on the subject. Most of my anticipated diving will be inshore sheepshead, garfish and catfish hunting. Though offshore fishing here is phenomenal, it gets a little expensive. Whereas, I can be shooting fish inshore within 10 minutes of my front door.
Please have patience with what will probably be many dumb questions.
