I am new to the board. I hope to learn ALOT from all of you.
I have been using a polespear but have decided to take up a band gun.

I will apologize in advance for any lame questions I may ask ...

Welcome to the DB, Rusty! You are bound to learn oodles of information, try not to take it in all at once, because that might be bad for your health:) The jump from polespear to band gun is a good one, I still keep my polespear handy for certain types of fish. But having a gun makes long shots on much bigger fish plausible, and fun! Good luck with your research and don't be afraid to ask "lame questions"!

welcome to db rusty,or should i say your welcome to db,there is no finer site bud, as far as lame questions go,check out the forum, never fails to let you down or make you smile

Welcome to DB Rusty...kick back make ourself at home and as the lame questions, so the lame spearos can unlame themselves and answer:confused:

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in North Florida on the Gulf coast and will have to learn where the good spots are in the Big Bend. I'm moving from a polespear to band guns. I picked up a used 52" wooden Sea hornet to learn & become familiar with. I have alot to learn.

Cheers ,..........................................................:friday

Welcom to the db RustyCompass! You picked a good way to start spearing! I alway recommend a pole spear to those who want to start spearing. In a way it can separate those who want to become an accomplished hunter from those who just want to shoot guns! I started off with a polespear and I still use one from time to time. And as far as questions... there are no stupid questions...just stupid people:blackeye nah, nah, I kid, I kid!
