Hey everyone!

I just joined and besides general spearfishing and freediving talk and information exchange, gear analysis etc, I'm interested in hearing how roller/invert systems perform in different conditions and environments throughout the world.

Wish you safe dives.

Hi, welcome! Where in Greece are you from?

Hey! I'm currently based in South Attica around Aegina and Methana. Almost exclusively shallow spearfishing but for bigger prey (leerfish, barracuda, dorado, seabass etc).

That sounds nice! I shot my first barracuda last week. In the entrance of a small harbour in west-crete there suddenly was a wall of them. Scary as hell, all those big eyes and teeth looking at me. Delicious fish after some time in the oven.

Just looked up Methana. A volcanic island, nice! Definitely placing that on my to-visit list.

They're actually surprisingly tame compared to bluefish! My first barracuda some years ago was more like a large zargana, meanwhile my first bluefish almost managed to bite me despite a good shot near its spine.

It has large game from sargo to dentex to groupers, even tunas from time to time but it's very deep and with steep cliffs. Visibility tends to be average to bad.
I have Vathy to suggest as a decent place and you'll find many other suggestions if you search around!
