hi i am a 15 year old spearo and i live in guatemala I spearfish in a 900 ft lake but unforchunently I con only hold my breath for about 45 or 50 seconds and the fish (mostly bass and crappie) are very deep so I realy have to work at holding my breath for longer but I enjoy working hard at it.
but anyways I wanted to say hi to the deeper blue comunity.

Greetings, and welcome to deeperblue! Check out the freediving section for help on breath-hold if you want to improve on that point. Please remember to train and dive with a buddy

Dear cigareta1993,
Welcome to deeper blue. Where are you diving in Guatemala?
I hope your diving becomes a lifelong habit! I have been freediving for 38 years and it has always influenced my life in positive ways.
Best Regards,
Argo - (Craig)

hi argoanaut diver I dive in a lake called lake atitlan in the department of solola. Have you ever been to guatemala? It is a beautiful country you should come if you have the chance. I plan to do some diving in the pacific in the future. Ive been fishing there and cought 11 sailfish(on rod and reel). But its only catch and relese but you can keep the dorados.
ps. Guatemala has the best sailfishing in the world.

G'day cigareta1993, good to have you aboard. Welcome to DB mate!

Dear cigareta1993,
Lake Atitlan!! Cinco Volcanos!! I have been to Atitlan in 1978. I did an altitude SCUBA dive in the lake and saw lots of freshwater crabs! A beautiful place with wonderful people! San Christobal was smoking!
I was on the way to British Honduras, towing a 21 ft catamaran. We drove into Guatemala near Tuxtla Chico and then to Atitlan. Later we drove through the jungle near Dolores and went to Tikal before entering what is now Belize.
I'd love to visit again! The Guatemalan people were wonderful to us! I'm so glad that the government is changing - and revealing some of the past injustice!
Regards,
Argo (Craig)
