Hi.
I am very interested in buying a gun for some fishing around my local coast here in north Ireland.
I surf allot and a after some dinner for those flat days. Also ive been trying to get some bass for past 2 years here with a rod so if ya can't beat em join em!
Looking at something cheap to start with. I see 65-75 onb spearo for 40-45£
Is that a good entry type and a fair price?
Anyone selling any secondhand cheaper?
I am assuming I do not need a license to fish here. This is N. Ireland and under british law so am not sure whether the no license rule for ireland applies here. Anyone else from N. Ireland?

Thx

Welcome Mucko. Yes those guns from spearo are a good buy for a starter gun and to progress with or at least that's what Dave who owns the shop says but I have no reason to disagree he's a top guy. I'm just across the water from you in North Wales if you fancy a swim, we can meet half way ;) A 75cm will be an ideal starter gun

Hi mucko I,m not too far away from you and not a spearo but heres what i know regs wise if your coming south. No need for licence is its a band gun but air guns are considered firearms and need a licence. Bass 2 per day limit and over 40cm. No spearing in freshwater and no spearing salmon anyplace anytime. No spearing on scuba and be careful about having scuba gear with you even if not using it.
