Hello from Coastal North Carolina.

I've never spear fished but I just bought a 6' pole spear. I want to spear flounder this spring, And whatever else I can hunt. I don't know very much about spear fihsing so I'll appreciate your advice.

Everyone learns that way. The spearfishing subforums have a lot of info and advice, but there's no substitute for experience. Make sure you dive with a buddy and have fun. I do recommend taking a freediving course. They're unparalleled for learning safety and technique.
