Howdy. I'm Andy just currently finishing off my PADI Divemaster course and would quite like to get into Freediving and absorb some of the atmos around here!

Are there many Kiwi's here if any?

See you around

There's a few.

Unfortunately most of us are in Wellington and Auckland though. Lazy Seals & Auckland Freediving are the clubs, but like I said, not much down your way. Get in touch anyway and I'll see how I can help.

Thanks :) appreciate that.

I actually have found a guy down here to take a one on one free diving course as part of a spear fishing outfit he runs. Ex navy diver and NZ waterpolo champ so I would feel safe learning with him I guess. Just need to find some money and some TIME to learn and practice.

I am 100% new to it but my first impression is that freediving is very much about having real contact with people in the know about it. I feel too nervous to try it beyond the elementary 3m pool stage without real instruction, having only read about how to do it..
