Welcome Jorge. How do feel about hyperventilating when "breathing up" before a dive? I watched a couple of youtube videos recently by 2 different professional freediving instructors: one explained in considerable detail how to properly & fully hyperventilate prior to a dive and the other carefully explained why you should be careful not to hyperventilate prior to a dive! [Perhaps that's why we need real, well trained, experienced instructors and not just videos? :)]

I´m not yet the most exact person to answer that question, because i´m not an Apnea Instructor but for whjat I know you shouldn´t ever hyperventilate before a dive. But that´s only my opinion from the course I made (Apnea CMAS N1)

Sorry @Mr. X but you must NEVER HYPERVENTILATE before breath-hold. Whoever was posting that on the internet is posting deliberately dangerous info. Hyperventilation reduces CO2 in your lungs (so reduces the urge to breathe) but doesn't actually increase O2 in your lungs. Very, very dangerous.

@jorge pinto martinez - I would suggest getting a freediving course - both AA and AIDA teach excellent courses. Take a look at www.freedivingcourses.com to see if there is an instructor near you :)
