Hi there guys and gals, thought i'd join this forum, looks great!
I'm just starting out spearfishing, i have done a very small amount of freediving around cornwall and involved in lots of other watersports, other than that i'm a fairly fresh newbie!
I have just bought a lovely mares cyrano 970, whilst it's prob overkill for UK conditions the price was unbeatable, the pneumatic system really appeals to me and thankfully you can adjust the power or use the reduced power switch, i also purchased a mares explorer 35 for hole shooting when the cyrano is too big and powerful.
Got all the other equipment but i'm looking to get a new wetsuit (seac sub race flex 400?) as i currently use a 3mm cheapo suit.
My experience with freediving is very limited so i'll be looking for tips and advice, i know basics as of now.
One thing to my advantage starting out is i've got a good set of lungs, i can static breath hold for over 3 minutes never having any type of training, so prob gives me somewhere under 2 minutes per dive at present.
At the end of june i'm heading down portland area for my first go at spearfishing with some friends!
