Hello everyone!

I'm an American living in Taiwan for the moment. I've always been interested in freediving, but only recently started training (mostly because I never knew how).

From just the information I've found online and a week of training, I've increased my static apnea from about 1:30 to 4:00, and my DNF from 30m to 50m. Much gratitude to you all for your wisdom. I know I can't improve much without help.

I hope to contribute what I can, and I'm sure I'll ask for help when I need it. Thanks in advance!

Theodoric

Welcome from Texas! Keep up the good work! Dive safe and help others.

hello and welcome on DB thats awesome time and depth hope one day i can manage it safely...

Keep it up dive nice and safe...

Welcome and good luck on your training - just remember to always have fun and safety first!

Oops, maybe I should clarify. My DNF personal best is meant to be horizontal distance, not depth (that would be insane/sweet!). Maybe I should call it something else besides dynamic no fins? Sorry for the misunderstanding. I haven't even tried depth yet.

On another note, I've just started posting a detailed training log on my website. I hope this can be of use to someone. Also, if any of you more experienced folks take a look and have suggestions to improve my training schedule and techniques, I would heartily thank you.

Just click on the link below, and find it under "Freediving," categorized by month.

Welcome. Any interest in spear fishing, I believe some of Taiwanese spear. Quite a lot of spear fishing product come from Taiwan these days (Mako spearguns, Omer masks, many dive knifes with different branding) - so might be worth checking it out while you are there .

Thanks for the welcome, Mr. X. I think I'd rather shoot the fish with a camera if underwater photography wasn't so expensive, but now that you mention it, I'll definitely look for some gear that can be used for freediving while I'm here. It's an excellent suggestion. Thanks again.
