Hello I am brand new to freediving and live in Utah, USA. I am just practicing in my house right now until it warms up enough for my neighbors to open their pool again. I hope to get my wife and best friend interested in free diving and spear fishing so that I can actually do this instead of sit in a house and think about it. Right now I am just saving up my money and buying all of the equipment I need, and should be in a lake this summer and I have a trip planned for Hawaii in July. I have gone scuba diving 3 times, and plan on going some more in the future as well. It's great to have all of this information in one place, and I can't wait to get into the water.

Hi and welcome Fo_Gish,
You can certainly find lots of info here on DB. The search function is also very handy and there's a basic freediving glossary as well. Always train safe and with a buddy directly watching you while you do your statics or dynamics, even in a small pool. Any questions just ask. :)
