Hi guys :wave

I think freediving bluewater hunting sounds very appealing, but I am afraid that I do not free dive. However, I have been a scuba diver for about 15 years. I own a speargun, but it is old and cheap and hardly ever got any use. Due to the proliferation of invasive species (specifically lionfish) here in South Florida, I have once again taken an interest in spearfishing. I found this site while trying to find information on a ScubaPro pneumatic speargun that I spotted recently. I have determined that it must be a used one because, apparently, they do not make it anymore. I also have gathered that there are new ones that are better. I am interested in knowing which ones are considered the best.

Glad to be here,
Mark

Hi Mark,welcome to db.
If you are interested in an air gun rather than a band gun, then congratulations!
There are a few facts you might like to know - air guns only come in one basic design but there are some very good ones available & plenty of upgrade kits for you to buy!
I think it would be fair to say that the Omer airbalete is the air gun of the moment however even this gun can be upgraded to a dry barrel gun.
In my signature, there is a link to explain dry barrel air guns & the search button will find you thousands of words on this subject.

Welcome from Texas! Not familiar with air guns myself. Always used bands but let us know how it works out on the hunting thread.
