Hello everyone,

I am Martin, I love the land the sky but mostly the sea's and water. I remember surfing [trying to] all day in Cornwall and North Devon when i was much younger and not in Lake District walking with my family. Thankfully I had a very active upbringing.

I am 24 going on 25 in a few weeks and have promised myself to get back in to water sports. The past few years while at university I limited myself to land activities, which are all great, but I want to get back in touch with the oceans.

I recently bought the Manual of Freediving and am yet to open it, think I may be waiting for my birthday or something :friday

I have scuba-dived with my father many times and got my Open Water PADI liceence about 6 years ago. But since doing all these activities and sports, i have never felt better lying in the ocean and feeling its current as well as getting smashed about by its power.

I am about to join a swimming pool and also hoping to get myself out to do some wild swimming at a near by reservoir in the yorkshire dales, forgot the name of it but I have found out that it is used by triathletes and has England's highest beach or something.

A big hello to all and I can't wait to get out and back in to the water. Here is to my first cold shower again to get my body used to not wearing a wetsuit. Here is to seeing where it all leads!

Oh and my family all live on the coast, father in Southport, sister in Scarborough and my mother/step dad in the highlands of Scotland. Funny really, i am in the centre of England equidistant to the coast both east and west, Leeds, hehe. So i hope to get much better at freediving!

A lot of routine's ahead of me I see :t
