Recently I've decided to get myself a computer. I know that I want it to be wrist mounted, and that I dont want to spend more than 500 dollars. Nitrox capabilities are important, because I plan on getting my nitrox cert in the future. I live in massachusetts, and sometimes dive here, but mostly on trips to exotic places.

So far, I've narrowed it down to three watches, with links to the cheapest prices i could find online:

Aeris Manta ($390): https://www.divetank.com/gear/product.php?id=779
Citizen Cyber Aqualand NX ($360): Genuine Time Pieces
Suunto Mosquito ($350): SUUNTO Mosquito Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer #MOSQUITO

It sounds like the most feature-rich is the Manta. The five year warranty is also enticing. I hear that Suunto's aren't the most reliable, and know for sure that they're also overly-conservative. The cyber aqualand looks the best, but i'm not sure if it's as functional as the others. All three can sync with a computer, and thats important to me.

As a side matter, my dad is an impulse buyer and says that he wants me to get one with a compass. I personally see the advantages of a wrist-mounted compass, but i don't think it's worth it to buy a more expensive watch (suunto D6... any other options?) when i probably won't even use most of the features, and especially when i'll already probably have a compass mounted in my console.

any hints/tips/advice/questions/comments/concerns are much appreciated

I know it's not on the list, but I love my Vyper (Suunto). in Mass I'm sure you'll be diving the deep dark and cold stuff. a big screen with easy to ready display. buttons that are thick-glove friendy. all pluses. has Nitrox mode.

something to check out maybe.
