I sent an email to elios asking what suit I should get. I asked for a very durable spearfishing suit that I didnt need lubricants to get into. I dive in the new york area (water temperatures from 45-75 degrees), and I think I need a 5mm suit.

heres their response:

OPTIONS:

1) Suit 5mm new Black coating Smooth inside / Nylon elastic Black outside Neoprene Heiwa Price Euro 223,00
this is the best-seller for spearfishing, very very slippery to get into without lubes, very comfortable, warmth and aderent to the body.

2) Suit 5mm Titanium coating cell inside / Nylon standard black outside Neoprene Ecoline Price Euro 188,00
this is a classic spearfishing suit, very very soft, warmth, aderent to the body and comfortable, good for shallow divings around 20/25 mts.

3) Suit 5mm Nylon standard Green inside / Nylon standard Black outside Neoprene Ecoline Price Euro 146,00
this is a very durable suit, comfortable, soft, easy to wear without lubes and reversible! (can wear it on both side)

4) Suit 5mm Thermic Pile inside / Kanoko antitears outside Black Neoprene Heiwa Price Euro 210,00
this is very very durable with kanoko reinforced lining outside, easy to wear, soft and comfortable.

5) Suit 5mm Thermic Plush lining inside / Nylon standard Black outside Neoprene Ecoline Price Euro 167,00
this is a classic model, soft, warmth, comfortable, durable and easy to wear.

6) Suit 5mm Superelastic lining inside / Superstretch Black lining outside Neoprene Heiwa Price Euro 225,00
this is the most elastic suit in the world, super-comfortable, super-soft, easy to wear like a t-shirt and durable.

The price differences aren't that big of a deal, so I need to choose which suit I want. I'm looking for advice/tips. from what i understand ecoline is the lower grade neoprene (explains the lower prices) amd if theres a real difference I prefer to get the better quality stuff. so that leaves 1,4 and 6. but heiwa comes in different densities? which should I get?
I expect to usually dive to hunt in the 10-60 foot range with 100' recreational freedives not out of the question.

thanks,
beero

well, I got the new black open cell/superstretch suit _ called 'black shadow' - and I like it alot. It's 5 mil and I dove all winter with it. However you need lube to get it on. The tradeoff for suits that need lube is they are definitely very warm.
