hi,i'm a newbie to forums, but been spearfishing a little while now,i'd sure appreciate some help choosing the right o2/co2 charts,my previous training was all wrong ,never knew anything about charts just apnea walk and diving as deep as i can go for as long as i could stay under..i'm trying o2 chart #6 from google shortest breath hold 3 mins longest hold 4min 45 sec increments of 15 sec for 16 breathholds resting 2 min between breathholds..i feel like i'm doing nothing.my besttime static apnea on land is 7 min 8 sec and 4 min 38 sec at 32 feet under open ocean..i would be very grateful for any help choosing the right charts...thanks:wave:wave

It is easy. At O2 table (fixed breathe-up time, increasing breath-hold time), if it feels too easy, you simply start with a longer BH, keeping other parameters identical (BH increments and BU).

At a CO2 table (fixed BH, decreasing BU), if it feels too easy, you increase the BH time. It is also recommendable to start the table with a relatively low BU time (i.e. 1'30 or 1') and decreasing it down to 15" and then repeating.

If you hold your breath in water, always have a spotter who stays with you and regularly checks out whether you are still conscious. Never do statics in depth - that's the best way to pass away - the are plenty of highly experienced freedivers who died in this way.
