Hi my name's Ed and I've lived on the coasts of Sydney my whole life - I'm obsessed with the ocean: surfing, free diving, scuba, swimming, snorkelling, etc.

I'm currently re-designing female free diving wetsuits for casual applications and I'm looking for people to be interviewed / provide input (~15 minute call) - are you interested? Reach out via this thread or shoot me an email on ed@ensemblemfg.com

Hope to see you in the water!

Hi Ed - so supportive of this! Can't do a call w/you, but would *love to see you succeed in this! It would be awesome if "the industry" recognized that not all women are under 175 cm . In the end I had to get a tailor-made freediving suit (from Elios, which I love, but it took 3 months...) because none of the off the rack mfrs make anything (either in M or F) that would fit me properly.
I'm 183cm, 75 kg and although I'd found a ready-made (3.5mm) men's scuba wetsuit that worked kinda ok for me, for warmer waters, I couldn't find a freediving suit for my cold-water adventures.
In freediving ready-mades, the men's I looked at (that were long enough in torso and leg) were either way too narrow in the hips and thigh, or way too roomy in the belly and chest; and the women's (even if OK in the hips/thighs) were all way too short in the torso and/or leg.
(ps you could maybe take a look at Waterlust°'s website for inspiration in designing/sizing for women, in our actual sizes and shapes - they just make lightweight water-apparel, not wetsuits - but they have a *great sizing chart system! and awesome models, eco-ethics, etc )
Good luck and thank you!
Berta
