Help on a Float and Float line system set up

Hey everyone,
I ordered a float line and bullet floats from a guy out in California and no instructions were sent. Can anyone walk me through the set up just to make sure I have it right.

the thing Im confused with the most is the blue line that is about 3 foot long..

The blue thing is a way to set up what is called a Hawaiian breakaway. Frankly, I don't think its necessary, but you already own it.

Maybe I better start by showing a Hawaiian breakaway without that thing, and then show how it fits in.

On my guns, I have the loop in the end of the shooting line a few inches from the line release, with a loop of bungee cord stretched from the shooting line over the line release. The clip on the front end of the float line is attached to the loop in the shooting line. When you pull the trigger, the shooting line is released and the gun is safe in your hands out of the chain.

With that blue thing, the little clip on the front end is attached to the loop in the shooting line, the bungee is stretched over the line release, and then your float line is attached to that loop of Spectra on the rear end. All you have accomplished is to move the float line connection behind the gun. The big tuna clip won't knock against the gun, but the little clip on the front of the blue thing is still the weakest link.

Thanks so much, that helps a lot! One last question about the line as far as the opposite side away from the gun where the d ring is would you go ahead and clip the d ring in front of the bouy or would you just let it go behind it and just use it as you need it? And also is there any way that you might know to make it where you can like quick detach it from the float line to go straight back to the gun? being in the Gulf we dive a lot of rigs and the line would get in the way. Or would you say instead of using the blue cord just connect the float line straight to the gun. Thanks again!!

I'm afraid I didn't understand either part of the question, and I don't see a D-ring anywhere.

Ha no problem and I might have te wrong name... I think you called it the "tuna clip" if I'm looking at the set up right that would b the furthest point from the spear? And if so would you just let that clip just float behind the last float or would u loop it around the last float and clip it infront of the floats. (hope that made a little more sense)
