help on spear fishing in the Swan river Perth

hello im new here i need some help about spear fishing in the Swan river Perth Western Australia.
i free dive and use a gidgi but i dont know if it is illigal,
where abouts can i legaly spear fish in the swan river??

All spearguns are banned in the river, however you can take cobbler with a gidgee. I won't say that I've not taken the odd bream myself, but apparently it's not allowed, so be discreet. We don't want some sort of scandal
