Right guys, time to buy a new suit.

I'm keen to buy the Omer mimetic but have just measured my self.....I'm not an average person it seems! I played professional rugby for quite a while and subsequently have a large chest but I am not very tall. According to Omer sizes; in height I'm a small, chest I'm extra large and waist I'm medium!

Any advice on specific wetsuits brands? or will it be best to buy a custom made one - I can't seem to find a nice camo style custom one tho.

Cheers,
Ramndom shaped Nick!

Oh my gosh, you have Sailor Moon as your avatar, fahjah. I didn't even know they had it in your part of the world!

I'll vote for Elios. It's wonderful, slow replies to emails, but still wonderful. Tell them what you want and they'll reply with like 10 options. I have no experience with DiveSkin, so I cannot comment. However, there's been reports that they don't use the neoprene they claim to use.

Go for Elios or Marea, get your friend to measure you, it takes 30 minutes, with excelent instructions on both homepages.

they both offer numerous material options, take the time to analyse what excactly you will use the suit for, training?, high performance competition?, spearfishing?

For training I use a Belagos paint softskin, with flexible inner lining from Elios, it has the option to wear it inside out, a good compromise if you ask me. My friend is very happy with his Marea Ocean Mimetic shark skin with flexible inner lining, it appears to be VERY durable, with the loss of a litle flexibility compared to my Elios suit.
I would only recomend the open cell / no lining if you go for competition and have another suit for the training.

Cheers for all the advice guys, much appreciated!

The Elios wetsuits seem very reasonable and a good selection. I will be mainly using the suit for spearfishing in british waters so I think a 5mm / open cell wetsuit like my old one will be a good choice - just hope it will fit a bit better if custom made.

I'll have a look at those other makes and let you know what I plum for.

Thanks again.

Oh an no dafydd as you well know I was a ripped and well toned scrum half like your goodself!!????!!!?

Nick
