Lost one of my C4 Falcon VGR 40/30 fins at the beach last saturday. called and told everyone
I came across about it on the beach for the whole night . Ranger stations, craigslists etc.

Heres where I originally posted that I lost it. http://www.spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=148724

Finally I decided to look on ebay last night as a last ditch effort.
THERE IT IS WHITH MY SERIAL NUMBER AND EVERYTHING!

I sent the guy a message to please call me. THen this morning another one asking to work a deal. I
haven't told him its mine but I highly doubt this gut was ever a free diver as he claimed.

Please dont buy my fin from him I'm trying to figure out what to do. I have my invoice with the serials
on it and pictures of the fin where the carbon fiber patterns can be clearly seen by the way of
the shapes around the stickers.

Heres a pic of my serial on his listing.

Heres a front shot of the fin from his listing and the pics of my gear. My lost fin is the one on top. Look at the
different patterns around the sticker. If you zoom in you can see they patterns are identical.

This was NOT the outcome I expected. But there is a really stand up guy with a great cause there.

Do what u want......on second thought, just take the reward money u posted in the other thread (or a portion of it even) and make a donation in honor of my brother in law.

Im on my phone.....can someone pls put up a link to the thread?

Don't pay me OP, just make a small donation......ur judgement on the amount.

Deal with any legal crap later if u want, I don't care.

Just be nice to see u get ur stuff back....I hate theives

Ahh, here's the link..

Please help fund a non profit CPR training class in my brother in laws name. - Tacoma World Forums

I'm making a donation regardless. but hopefully the seller (guy whom found my fin) does the right thing. Instead of shipping it reads the threads and refunds he money and makes an attempt to meet up with me or some arrangement.

If your rescuer paid via PayPal it should be rather easy to get the money back from this guy. The 'finder' must not be rewarded for his behavior. You should claim the item as stolen on PayPal an Ebay. They don't want to be a platform for stolen items.

I wholeheartedly agree. But at that point it was beyond my control. I called ebay... they told me to call the police. I called the police they told me ro call the rangers. The rangers don't pick up the phone.... been calling all day

Here in the Netherlands a 10% finders fee is considered honourable.

Maybe a friend can pose as a potential buyer, securing your gear from him selling it to another. If you know the location of the seller your friend can ask for a personal exchange. Then just turn up with the police and a camera.

While you present yourself as the righteous owner, who assumes the finders good intentions, and ask to return your goods for an appropriate reward. He can play the honourable way, he can play the opportunistic way selling to your friend, anyway you'll win. and you can make him famous or infamous.

meanwhile you try to find out all the info you can about the bloke.

I wish you much success.

Problem is someone bought already. He bought it for me... have a read in the thread I linked for the whole story

I've read the tacomaworld forum and it appears to me to have been resolved, or is about to be resolved. When you get your fin back I would still send those involved a nice bottle of wine and or flowers to express your gratitude with a deed. Action speaks louder then words. Also be cool about the whole thing, after all though expensive it's replaceable.

Yeah. I am, I will, and plan to take care of everyone involved. I t is resolved so far and I will keep everyone updated to the progress.
