I’m new to freediving/spearfishing. Looking to invest in a pair of fins.(I think I have at least graduated to those ) Shallow dives, lots of surface time, and shore dives. I think I’m looking for a softer blade. I’m 5’11” 190 lbs. Choices are OMER millennium green
OMER millennium black
CRESSI gara 3000
PICCASSO start
PICCASSO black team

Looks like a definite Cressi Gara 3000 LD to me. Comfortable footpockets and soft blades, perfect for shallow dives and surface swimming.

You might check into the Omer Millenium ICE's. They have been recommended to me by a number of very experienced divers. I understand they have the best warranty as well.

i have the omer greens, i think thay would be perfect, good price and good all around fin.

Ive got the black teams and Im very happy with them. Fairly comfortable surface swimming and comfortable and nice wide footpockets, perfect for long shore dives, but hey its a personal opinion. Bonus on mine are that you can change the blades, or the pocket for that matter :)

Get the Omer Ice 3's. Great performance for surface and shallow dives. Best value, especially with 3 year guarantee and they look so cool as well. All the fins mentioned are good but I think in your case this is the best choice.

fatswim,

You also might want to look at this thread, which is mainly on fin sizing, but has helpful sidenotes, I found:

I would without a doubt reccomend the "Sporasub H.Dessault" in black.

It is a very good fin, I have a pair and a pair of C4's and i have the Cressi Gara 3000. And let me tell you the 3000's are rubbish compared to the Sporasub.

+ if you find out later that you want to upgrade to carbon or fiberblades, you can use the footpocket of the sporasub because it just sits in with 2 screws.

Besides they are really cheap
