Hi guys.

The last few days i have been spending alot of hours in the pool. Then, last night, i noticed that both my ears are very sore, cuz when i placed my head on the pillow, it hurt.. It feelt like i had been wearing headphones all day which had squeezed the ears.. So i thought that it might just be a sqeeze from the new mask i bought.

the during the day, the pain have become slightly more worse, and now i feel it even without anything touching my ear.

I thought it might be swimmers ear, cuz the symtoms match... but then, can swimmers ear be in both ears at the same time?? I always thought it usually just were one of the ears..

Any experiences guys?

Yes, it could be swimmers ear. Better to see a doctor, there are some ear drops which are good for treating it.

From what you describe, sounds like you guessed just right!

Sure it can happen in both ears, especially if there was something in the water or you have unfortunate anatomy in both ear canals.

A doctor or nurse can free you of any guess work in 10 seconds by peeking in, so I recommend that. They'll also give you some antibiotics in a severe case that will ease your pain very quickly...

Ok.. just thought that it was extemely rare to get it in both ears at the same time.. got a doctors appointment in 2 hours:)

While im at it.. do you guys have any tips of preventing swimmers ears in the future? Ive talked to a guy who drops his ears with a few drops of plantoil. and another one recommended using a hairdrier (blowing it in the ear after each dive / swimsession.)
