Does anybody know about it? He was planing to do that this December. I asked him on a facebook, he didn't answer. Are there any news about this attempt ?

İ was wondering about that too. Thought it would take place in November 2010. Herbert is not as media friendly as Trubridge etc. He does not even update his website for months. İ guess he is a busy pilot.

I think they are conducting some experiments with freediving monkeys first. What do you reckon the current static record for a monkey would be?

Just go to the apnea.cz ranking, and look up the monkey statics discipline, or enter the monkey name you are interested in :D

Haha good answer Trux lol

Interesting that monkeys don't tend to swim etc but I guess same goes for people, we have to be taught etc

Guys sorry I hijacked the thread with monkey comments but I am assuming that Herbert's attempt didn't take place yet - I am sure we would have heard about this one!

Don't get me started on the fundamental aquatic differences between humans and other primates. Look up '[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquatic_ape_hypothesis"]aquatic ape hypothesis[/ame]'.
