hi all mac here , went to herm for the day to do abit of relaxing and to go spearfishing went down to shell beach and found some nice rocks soi decided to go there the visability was amazing saw a few rockies not very big but nice to see after following the rocks for a while i headed to a reef and found some nice weed andjust stayed around there for a while and then my matetold me he had seen some bass so about 3 minuiteslater i saw them swimming out so they were to far to shoot , after seeing them i later saw about 15 -20 mullet swim infront of me i tracked the largest one i could see and shot at it but foor some reason my speardidnot seam tobe traveling fast enought to do any damage ( any one know why ?)

after i had shot at them they had spooked , and just as i was about to head for the beach i saw a shoal ofbass around 5-8 all from 3 - 5 lb again i shot but the speardidntseam to be traveling fast enough i waited but they didnt come back so headed for the beach and saw loads of baby sandeels
still yet to kill anything but my time will come certainly the best trip so far

cheers

Its a cavealero topshot , I've changed the rubbers on it as the old ones had perished the new ones are beuchat

I cant say I have ever heard of that model before!
How long is it, is it a 75cm?

If it is a 90cm with new bands then it should be good for 3-4mt shots.
I shoot most of my fish at much closer range than that though, with patience & practice you should be able to get very close to the fish.
I hope you finally read my answer to your flatfish question!
