Hey everyone!
I'm Nik, an aspiring freediver, based in South-West Western Australia.
I've been interested in the ocean for many years, I'm an SSI OWD and I'm hoping to perhaps further my scuba education. However, I'm much more interested in the aspects of free-diving and not being attached to a cylinder and what-not.
I've done a bit of dry static apnea "training" (and achieving what I think is pretty good, but may be standard around here!), but I'm not sure if what I'm doing is beneficial, and other than cruising around and being totally confident underwater, I'm not entirely confident with the training side of it. I'm not currently in it for the competitive side of the sport, I'm just looking to better myself through it (ability, fitness, simply being underwater for "ages"
etc), but hey, if I have a knack for it, why not...?
I also do a bit of amateur underwater photography, which I also want to develop further!
Currently studying a Bachelor of Marine Science (double major with Biological Scienes (considering changing this to Molecular Biology)) at Murdoch University.
Thanks!
