Hey everyone my name is Jon and I'm new to the freediving world. I've been swimming since I was 5 on teams and all through school till the end of high school and I love being in the water. just started doing some diving recently in my school pools and have been working on extending my breath holds. So far I have maxed out 1 min 30 sec but hoping to go for longer after some training. I'm also interested in spearfishing and scuba but for right now this is the most affordable option! Anyways, look foward to talking to and learning stuff from you all.

Hi 07, welcome to DB. It sounds like you are keen, you will defenatly find plenty to interest you on DB although it might take you some enjoyable time to work it all out.

Welcome Jon! There are a few of us locals floating around and it seems we grow in numbers all the time. Do yourself a favor and go visit Mike at Florida Freedivers up in Palm Beach about 20 minutes north of you. It is a freediving/spearfishing toy store of bliss!

Welcome, Jon! It's good to have you here. Stick around; there's plenty to learn about equipment recommendations, buddies, and everything else diving-related.
I swam on the team in high school, but can't seem to stay interested in just the surface anymore. Anyway, take care, and welcome

Hi Jon

I was in Boca Raton about 10 years ago. My wifes cousin and her husband are snow birds and we visited them one easter. Went to a beach which I remember had a sign "No spearguns".

My diving is done here in the UK where I live which is over 4000miles away. Small world though!
