Hi, I'm Nickel. I'm a newbie freediving spearfisher-woman on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I don't know anyone in my area who freedives, so it's nice to be able to talk to others who don't think I'm absolutely crazy when I say I freedive! :wave

Hiya :)
Nice to have more girls on board, it gets lonely here sometimes. You'll find this is a brilliant place to find buddies for freediving and as much information as you'll ever need (probably ;))

Welcome Nickel,

You have some absolutely primo diving on the rigs a few miles to your south. The deeper ones often have excellent visibility and should be free diver friendly. Somebody must be running trips out there.

I grew up in Mobile and was introduced to rig diving by a cajun from Biloxi. Great stuff. Does the White Oaks (a bar) still exist in Ocean Springs? Spent many a fine evening there. Are you a student at the Ocean Springs Marine Research Laboratory?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I'm not sure that if the White Oaks is open or not anymore, Connor. But your right about the rig diving. I've been out a couple of times to rigs about 60 miles south and shot some mangrove snapper and almost had a cobia (I was sooo close). I'm not a student at the OS Research lab, I go to the University of Southern MS, Long Beach campus.

I must be getting old or something
