Hi All,
I recognise one or two members - hi to them!
I've never fired a speargun (underwater!), so I'm the rawest newbie you will ever find! raise raise raise
I dive a lot here in the South West of England. The viz isn't always brilliant but the diving usually is! I dive a rebreather, so no bubbles, and I get to dive lots of nice deep wrecks where the ling are over a metre and a half long, as are the congers. We have an agreement - I leave them along and they don't eat me...
I've just been given a pneumatic Seac Sub speargun and I'm itching to try it. I know scuba is frowned on and I guess having no bubbles will drive people mental with rage, but I want to take fish to eat and in my world, doing it as efficiently as I can is best for the fish and best for me. :ko I'm sure there will be some interesting comments about this... :ban rofl
If I don't get slung immediately from the board in disgrace, could some kind soul point me in the direction of the newbie bits? I really need some good advice on how to get started... What's the best thing to use for target practice? Don't want to be shooting anything wriggling until I know I can hit it in the right place ("stone" it?)...
Many thanks,
John
