I've been a member/lurker here for about a year now, but never posted an intro. I got my open water cert last year to take up spearfishing in the lake and can't wait to get back out there on Monday as the season just opened. I enjoy long dives and shooting fish in the face! I look forward to all the wisdom that the divers here share and can hopefully contribute some of my own in the future.

On a side note, I will be vacationing around Destin, FL at the end of October, and would like to do some inshore spearfishing. Let me know if you're in the area and game to guide.

It's really a crap shoot, sometimes it's 20', other times you can't see past the tip of you spear. I'd say on average it's about 8' from your spear.

Mainly Walleye, but also catfish and crappie. There are rough fish that you can hunt all year if you want.
