Hi - my first ever forum membership. Slightly nervy about it. I am developing a system of freediving from a sit on top kayak, for photography, and just to dive. The water around here is cold, good visibility is rare, and I need all the technique I can get. My PADI training was fiercely against breathing off CO2, and I am more interested in meditation techniques anyway. So I'm off to check the threads.... Be cool to hear from anyone with similar interests.

hey Bob, south east england ey? Yeah the visitbility is bad. Where abouts is Whitestable?
I'm in Hastings but the vis is so bad I always dive in Brighton.
You should see under the pier. there is a sunken bench, would make such a good photo with two freedivers reading a newspapaer on it!

Hi Bob, I use a sit on for spearing, photography and general freediving and messing about.Kayaks save miles of swimming.Let us know how you get on in Kent.

Hi Bob welcome on Deeperblue, what are you doing is very interesting let me know if you come down to the west.cheers.

Hi Bob, welcome aboard. :)
I am in London and I do pool training every week. Where do you dive on the South Coast?

Hey Naiad, where do you usually dive? In the ocean I mean? Hzv you had the time recently to come down?

I only do pool training. I have tried many times to find open water diving near where I live, but without success. It has to be somewhere easy to get to by train, and also somewhere which has changing facilities, because the only way I can get warm is with a hot shower.

I did some open water scuba dives at Horsea Island in Portsmouth.
