Hi all, I'm currently in Bournemouth and looking to get back into spear fishing locally. Being doing the odd dunk in Sandbanks/ Poole harbour area but not really getting anywhere at the moment so thought I would see if there's anyone out there willing to let a newbie tag along, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Got a few lobsters and small mullet last year but really want to nab a couple of nice bass locally.

Welcome to the forum mate. Check out the Dorset threads for up to date Vis reports (rough areas not exact locations). A good starting point is to read the threads from previous years as they often mention dive locations and also it will give you an idea of where fishes good at what time of the year.

If you've got any questions about setups or anything then ask away and someone will be along to answer for you.

Keep us updated with dive reports and pictures

Dear Minicoops,

I am new to these forums. I am one year into surfing and I think I need to learn how to hold my breath for longer to cope with hold-downs that occur in bigger waves. I am open to free-diving/snorkelling too. I live in Bournemouth and would love to meet like-minded individuals!

James :)
