I am very new to freediving. Obsessed with it since seeing video of nery doing a freefall in the bluehole. Up till then, played in our deep diving tank at fitness center, up and down results with depth pressures and breath holding. Then got into info on web and you tube about freediving. Since quitting smoking, a good while back, my inspiration has been swimming, breath holding, and before i knew it, i'm doing a lot of things very similar to freediving. Then, as mentioned i see you tube, and guillaume nery and trubridge. Absolutely amazing!!
So i will be looking on info and tips for breath holding, relaxation in the water before and during practise.living where i do, we are very limited to diving, and from what i have found or not found, i am hoping this forum will be very beneficial for advise and info.
Thanks ahead of time for this sight, and hopefully some great advise.hopefully this will extend into meeting some of you. I am planning some travelling to ocean destinations and ofcourse want to train before so i can fulfill a dream of freediving in some ocean waters. I've got lots of mountains near by, but the ocean is a lot farther..talk to you soon.

Hey Steve,

Great to hear you have taken a liking to freediving. From my limited experience I will say it will most likely change your life. You should look up Mandy and Kirk Krack at Performance Freediving (The Cove). They are located in Campbell River BC and have an amazing program for new divers. I am currently in the intermediate program and I can't say enough about it! If you ever find yourself on the coast, drop me a line. Welcome to the forums.

Cheers, Matt.

I'll be in DT Calgary for a handful of days in early Aug.

Feel free to contact and we can shoot the shit.
