Hi,

Relatively new to spearfishing despite dabbling in it since I was a kid. However I finally took the plunge *pun intended* and am now trying to go out atleast every weekend. I am based in Dubai in the UAE, but normally drive to Ras Al Khaima or Fujaira for some shore diving. Just bought my second gun (a Rob Allen 100 rail gun) as I was disappointed in the beuchat marlin 75 that I bought previoulsly. That said, I'm here to learn, and would love to meet people who spear in the region/across the globe.

Hello and welcome on DB Max Good to know ur enjoying ur time in UAE by spearfishing what are you landing usually? All best

Mashkoor ya Saleh. Thanks for the welcome :D . I've been in the UAE for 5 years (4 years in Sharjah) and love every day of it. Last weekend went to RAK and got one nice grouper (hamour) a two bar bream, and some trevally. How are the fish in Sharjah? any good spots closer to Dubai? and do you go shore diving or from a boat?

Hala Max,,,

Nice catch and RAK has excellent spot but there is one guy there annoying us everytime we go there i usually go to fish in um quain has nice places and in sharjah al zorah near to kimpensky hotel sometimes dibba khorfakkan we rent boat little from here and there... In DUBAI hardly i know the spot behind sheraton i been there one time only...

I will be flying on friday and come on next friday INSHALLAH so we will be in touch after 10 days as i hope...

Alll best

Hala Feek,

I'm planning on checking out UAQ, the problem is I live on the Jebel Ali side of Dubai so everything is a long drive for me. But I was definitely impressed by the fish in RAK. My problem in dibba is that there is almost always terrible visibility that ruins the fun. Everyone told me about the spot by the sheraton, but I have never checked it out. Travel safe, and I look forward to it :)

Take Care

Hi Max.. i am new to spearfishing and went to few stores to buy speargun today. live close to Jebel Ali (Emirates Hill) as well.. i seen beuchat guns in barracuda store today.. any suggestions for biggeners ?
i am also looking for someone experience to join.. let me know .. thanks

Hi Guddu,

honestly i was disappointed with the beuchat I bought. My advice would be call the guys at Haayari Sub. +97150 6215375. Not only do they have some great products, but they are super helpful. The store is in Abu Dhabi, but they can arrange a delivery in Dubai if you need, so best to check out what you want to get online, and then call and see what they stock. They will also be more than happy to give you advice on whats best for the type of spearing you do.

Good Luck

Hi Max,
I am in Dubai as well.Happy to help you out.I go around the Sheraton.I would like to try Ras Al Khaimah one day.Welcome to the group

Hey Tarek,

went to sheraton today for some trolling and rod fishing from a kayak. Went out pretty far, and was super disappointed I didnt bring my mask and gun. the visibility was unheard of!!

Comparing to RAK yesterday where I could barely see the end of my nose because of the particulates, it was crystal clear. :) And Sheraton is over fished to the extreme, its worth going in case something big swims by, but apart from that, i dont think much is left.

Do you know a good spot in RAK?I haven't been there.I went to Kalba at the wave breaker and it was ok.

Hi Max and the rest.
I just purchased a speargun and would like to spearfish with someone onshore. No boat. Do you know some good spots in Dubai, Sharjah, RAK, Fujairah ect... I can provide you my mobile phone in mp.

Sélim
