Hi everyone,

I'm based in Luton, United Kingdom, about 30 miles north of London.

I've recently become obsessed with freediving and have decided to make it my new hobby. I'm mainly interested in constant weight stuff, the no limits stuff doesn't appeal to me.

I've done a PADI Open Water course but no freediving course and am still struggling with the Frenzel technique which I can't do yet. Up till now I've only snorkelled about and dived down to look at stuff I've seen whilst on holiday and I'm guessing I haven't been much deeper than 10m but that's just an estimate.

I think I'd like to get to the stage where I can get to a reasonable depth / just be able to swim about underwater for a reasonable length of time, looking at interesting underwater scenery / sealife.

At the moment I'm practicing static apnea and a bit of walking about / up and down stairs whilst holding my breath. Also the odd trip to the pool.

I can hold my breath for nearly 4 minutes at the moment and my dynamic apnea is a bit crap. I could probably do with sorting out my whole swimming technique.

I'm off to Dahab in a few weeks to snorkel about and do some shallow dives but I can't afford a freediving course yet so I will be taking it very slowly. I hope to be able to afford an AIDA course by the summer.

If anybody is in my area then it would be great to learn off of someone more experienced or even if you're another complete beginner it would be good to meet someone else trying to improve.

Cheers everyone!

Hello London Luton
I've flown into London Luton several times
With a handle like Tigermoth are you also a pilot?

Hiya,

Yep I'm a pilot. I learnt on the Tiger Moth and now I fly B737s for a living.

I see you're a pilot too Colonel!

It's amazing how many pilots are also into scuba diving

Welcome from Texas! My favorite a/c to have flown is the Stearman!
