Hi there, i'm from Malta (the centre of the Mediterranean). i've been snorkling and free diving since i was a little kid. but only started taking this serious this summer. This forum was of great help to get that much needed information to get started.

Hi all,I am off to Malta on 22/08/2011 for my hols.Taking the missus and boy with me as my life would not be worth living otherwise.We go every year but normally oct time.I keep a couple of guns there with my brother in law and do as much spearfishing as possible.Normally the south of the island Marsaxlokk and Delamara area but any where is cool for me.Not into deep dives as I struggle to do more than 10m or so comfortably.Normally go with my brother in laws but they work and usually can only go after work or on their days off.
I was wondering if any locals fancied letting me tag along with them for a bit of spearfishing.

No problem, just keep in contact and we can hang around. unfortunately i might not be available during week days. apart from spearfishing there are some cool dive wrecks we might consider visiting, like the destroyer HMS Maori sand is at 18mtrs deepest or P31 at comino, its at 18mtrs as well. Just keep in touch and we shall Dive.
BTW where are you from?

Would love to try a few wrecks, have dived the one a zurrieq albeit with scuba. Fancy a go with the speargun for a decent lizz if you know of a good place.
I am English but speak Maltese pretty well with a xlokkir accent.
I lived in Malta for 10 years in Marsaxlokk fishing village.Went to De La Salle and moved back to England because of the work situation when I finished 6 th form.Known locally by my nickname twila because I am 6ft 4".
I have many friends in Malta.I will be staying in my friends place in Marsaxlokk when I come in August and am looking forward to making friends with more spearos.
