I figure I'd start a thread for those HD videos too big for "youtube.com" - I know I would be interested in watching others videos in HD.

Here's a start- It's a different version of us spearfishing/Freediving in Lake Michigan. It's my first time with my new Camera- so, bare with me.

It seems like you need to give us a link TO THE VIDEO or a PASSWORD...Or I am just a technological retard!

you have to follow like 2 links, enter a code that is 4 characters long, it's right below the text box. then click another button to download

Wow...Awesome!!! Did you see that whale! Holy cow I did lose some weight since then...The HIGH DEFINITION VID is totally awesome...I really liked the way the bubbles were sparkling at one point...

I can't wait 'til next year out there...

Looked pretty good for your FIRST time Whopperhead...Keep it up buddy...That was so cool!

Thanks, I can't imagine what they will look like when I get better at editing and shooting better video- The Possibilities for a great video are there, It's a JVC GZ-HD7 - I bought it through BHPHOTO.com

My 2nd attempt at a video is pretty cool too and better camera handling- I couldn't post it- cause the File was too large for "File Factory" so if anyone knows of a site, I can UPLOAD Large files for sharing - please let me know. My last video was 324MB.

Hi Whopperhead. Do you eat all those carp? How are they prepared and what do they taste like? (don't say chicken!)

We don't actually eat these carp- I am how ever buying a smoker so I can Smoke the REALLY small ones- The carp here in Wisconsin are considered a JUNK fish and destroy habitat for game fish and get VERY LARGE- some areas of Wisconsin actually will pay people to get rid of the carp. The only way - I've heard the carp taste OK are smoked- and only the small ones- The larger ones I hear taste pretty bad. I use them as fertilizer for now. And the cats like to eat them. I know - me not eating these carp make some people mad- but I wonder, Have they ever eaten one of these large carp? I doubt it. Anyone wanting the carp I shoot for food- is more than welcome to take them.

Are those carp native or where they introduced? Does your government recognize this threat and authorize theses culls? I saw a video recently of a jumping carp (I think) introduced from Asia that was decimating your waters as well as posing a hazard to recreational watercraft, are these the same Carp species? Sorry for so many questions but it is an interesting theme, unfortunately off the threads topic....oops!

From my understanding the only carp native to Wisconsin are Buffalo carp- which these are not- I was told they were brought in to eat off a certain Invasive Plant and now have been populating with no predators......except humans. The Department of Natural Resources does recognize these fish as invasive and often will kill a whole lake or pond of ALL fish just to get rid of the the carp, and then put fry/fingerlings of game fish back in the lake.

We do not have the Asian carp (jumping carp) in wisconsin.............YET. I'm sure that will be just a matter of time.

Here in Czech we will eat carps a lot during Christmas - it's classic Christmas Evening meal. :D

Whopperhead could feed and entire village on Christmas!

Next time I'm with him and he's killin' carp I'm gonna look at him and say "Hey...you know Czech people eat them for Christmas...You should feel bad killing all them carp"....

Then he's gonna look at me with them crazy, carp killin' eyes, and effortlessly stick yet another and just smile at me!

Yup...He's cold blooded....I mean the carp are...No I mean....Errrr....Nevermind. I'm just weird sometimes!rofl

These carp are in the water from a coal power plant - and I've been told are not safe to eat- not only that, I dispise them- I know some people don't understand that- but, unless they are here at this creek by my house in the spring time- they wouldn't understand- THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of CARP! So thick you could walk across them. And now that creek is NOT a hot fishing spot.

I do smile when I shoot one :B

Thanx man, i was wondering if there was anywhere to put em. Youtube degrades the hell outta my already crappy underwater videos from my cheap camera.
