I'm trying to find some of the diving equipment that was used in the 50's for a student film that I am doing. Its going to be like the old Jacques Cousteau film "The Silent World". What i need is one of those diving helmets with the window on the front. Does anybody know where I can get one of these in the Long Beach area for cheap? Can you rent them? Replicas are fine.

Thanks.

Here is what that film looks like if anybody is curious:

In this clip you see the aqualung/scuba type divers, i need the old helmet type. Just thought Id show the vid.

If you mean the big brass helmets, they often come up on eBay. I think some are probably just decorative replicas but all sorts come up. You also see them in dive stores & seafood restaurants as decorations sometimes.

I found my old full face mask from the 70s (looks like those in the second film) last year but it now belongs to another forum member who uses vintage Britmarine gear. I believe he has a complete colour coordinated set again now. Maybe he'd be interested in you project.
