I’ll be on the boat whenever the date is although late July would be good for me.

Re: Holiday Guernsey 2008.

Great i will pm Andy to see if he can put up a tide table, probably best to have a midday low tide or early afternoon.

Re: Holiday Guernsey 2008.

Lets get the ball rolling shall we - any one got a 2008 calendar?
Last year we settled for late July I am happy to aim for the same sort of time?
Here is the thread I started last year in case we have any new faces who want to see what it is all about.

Hi foxfish

How late in july? i'd love to come over possibly with one or two more but i'm a teacher so it would have to be after the kids break up, around the 27th onwards

Would that be to allow the odd touch of alcohol to leave the system before a dive?:friday
Or so we can all spend the morning practicing our breath hold techniques after we’ve done the 4-mile jog and 2 hour workout in the gym?:)rofl:)

Can’t wait to come back over mate already really looking forward to it.

Re: Holiday Guernsey 2008.

Your wish is my command...

Start of August looks the best for July/August trip with low springs early to mid afternoon (is that long enough to sober up Podge??):

pdf files:

View attachment August 2008.pdf

I'm off on a cruise for a week later in August (23rd to 30th I think) to Norway 5th wedding Anniversary pressie :inlove, but also have to take son :rcard , but also have the suite but I think I may well keep myself free from the dangling if we have some firm dates early on so I can at least try harder to get in the drink :friday some more next year...

Re: Holiday Guernsey 2008.

well if you can put up with me than im in!,
adm where you going to in norway???
i spent christmas and the new year in narvik, bodford and tysjestford last year, went and watched some killer whales play with the sardines. Fantasic experience and of all the places in the world of not trying to find someone from the isle of wight i met a sweet old couple in the hotel we stayed in from the island what luck!

Re: Holiday Guernsey 2008.

Count me in Mart. End of July would be perfect for me so there is no chance of a clash with family holidays once the kids break up.

Can't wait. Better get that advance order in for Juan's Rocquett.

Re: Holiday Guernsey 2008.

I think we should include the first & second of August as the base weekend but perhaps some will stay a little longer either before or after that date?
I did try to point out in the last thread that if more than last year turn up the format will have to change. What I mean is, fire house party's & lobster feast are not going to happen if 20+ people turn up! This year I catered for 16 & that is about the limit for me & my facilities.
Of course I dont mean to be negative just pointing out the logistics - so we will be more likely to break up into groups when diving & socialising in pups & restaurants when not.
whatever " bring it on"

Re: Holiday Guernsey 2008.

Looking good already! Where are you Podge, Spaniard, Scottie, StuckinSurrey?

Re Tide Tables, I came across this site

Digimap Tides

in case anyone hasn't seen it, which is very useful for looking up tides.

We've told the Rocquette cider people to make extra for July/August!:):friday
